I just finished a great exercise. I put out two choices for a first line for my latest novel for my Facebook friends to choose from. Not only did they pick their favorite but they gave me great ideas and input on what was good and bad about each. I love involving potential readers in the story. That is whose opinion matters the most. If it works out, I would like to try more author/reader interaction like this. It helps connect my stories more deeply to the ones for whom I write.
